Ryan Scott | Manager
Ryan Scott is in his second season as a coach in the Mariners organization and his first as Manager of the Everett AquaSox. In 2022, he served as a coach with the Modesto Nuts. He spent seven seasons in the minor leagues in the Dodgers (2013-15), Angels (2016, ’19) and Mariners (2017-18) organizations, making it to the Triple-A level. The Scottsdale, Arizona native was selected by Los Angeles-NL in the 30th round of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Notre Dame Preparatory High School (AZ).
Father, Darryl Scott, pitched in the major leagues with the California Angles (1993) and is the current pitching coach for the Colorado Rockies.
Sergio Plasencia | Infield Coach
Sergio Plasencia joined the Mariners organization in 2023 after spending the last six seasons at Glendale Community College (CA) as infield, hitting, and first base coach. He played two seasons (2014-15) collegiately at the University of Dayton and earned his Master’s in Kinesiology from Azusa Pacific University (CA) in 2022.
Cameron Ming | Pitching Coach
Cameron enters his first season as Pitching Coach with the AquaSox after serving as a pitching assistant with Everett in 2022 before serving as a Pitching Coach with the Modesto Nuts to finish out last season.
He was a member of the University of Arizona Wildcats 2016 squad that advanced all the way to the College World Series championship series. During his playing career at Arizona, Ming made 69 appearances (16 starts) and posted a 3.29 ERA with 129 strikeouts and a .255 opponent batting average.
Following the conclusion of his collegiate career, he was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 14th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft. Ming played three seasons of professional baseball in the Orioles organization, reaching as high as Double-A before returning to Arizona to complete his education and begin his coaching career.
Michael Fransoso | Hitting Coach
Michael Fransoso enters his fourth season with the Mariners organization, his first as hitting coach with the AquaSox. He spent the 2022 season with the Modesto Nuts as their hitting coach and the 2021 year and served in the same role with the ACL Mariners in 2021. Michael was scheduled to be hitting coach for Everett prior to the 2020 cancelation of the minor league season.
Michael was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 27th round of the 2013 MLB draft out of the University of Maine. He played sevin seasons in the Minor Leagues with the Pirates, Somerset Patriots and Rockland Boulders. He also spent one season playing winter ball in Australia for the Canberra Cavalry.
He is originally from Portsmouth, NH.
MJ Rookard | Outfield Coach
MJ Rookard enters his first season with the Mariners organization. He played college baseball at Middle Georgia State University for two seasons, appearing in 112 games and batted .354 with a .451 on-base percentage, 16 home runs, 98 RBI, 139 hits, 24 doubles, and three triples for the Knights
Undrafted, he played three seasons of professional ball with the Gary SouthShore RailCats (American Association), retiring as a player following the 2022 season.
He is originally from Atlanta, GA.
Drew Weidner | Strength and Conditioning
Drew joined Everett in 2023 as Strength & Conditioning Coach after serving that role with the ACL Mariners in 2022.
A native of Minnesota, he attended Gustavus Adolphus College
Dan Laberry, MS, ATC | Athletic Trainer
Dan joined the Everett AquaSox as Athletic Trainer in 2023 an was named the Northwest West League Athletic Trainers of the Year. Prior to joining Everett, he spent two seasons with the Modesto Nuts as their Athletic Trainer.
He previously interned with the Atlanta Braves and the Northwestern University football program. LaBerry graduated with his M.S. in Sports Administration from Valparaiso University in 2020 and completed his B.S. in Athletic Training from North Central College in 2018.
Stephanie McLain | Athletic Trainer
Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science (BS), Athletic Training for the University of Central Missouri in 2018 and her Master’s Degree in Sports Management from the University of Dubuque in 2021.
She joins the AquaSox as an Athletic Trainer in 2023 after serving as a Seasonal Athletic Trainer with the Baltimore Orioles in 2022. She has also worked with West Texas A&M, the University of Dubuque, and Point University.
